N.S.S (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME)

AIMS OF N.S.S

To develop a national consciousness amongst the youth. To generate social awareness among the students. To promote the dignity of labour and strengthen the spirit of service and sacrifice in the younger generation.

REGULAR PROGRAM

Environmental awareness - Poster Competition, Debate, Discussions on Current Topics, Medical project - Blood Donation Camp,Awareness about AIDS,Special coaching classes to the elderly persons during camp. Rural upliftment - camping in rural areas for 7 days.

SPECIAL PROGRAM

Hosted 7 days N.S.S. Camp Conducted Rallies on National and Social Issues like Right to Vote, Drug Abuse, Single use Plastic,Water Conservation etc.

The Extension and Outreach activity of the college is carried out under the N.S.S. unit which was established in the year 2002. The unit was started with a strength of 50 students. The vision of the unit is to develop awareness of social responsibility & good citizenship as to maintain the socio-economical balance in the society. Time to time there are certain programs which are organized by the N.S.S.  committee to install social responsibility in the students. On the N.S.S. foundation day, the students organize cultural programs which portray social issues. Every  year a 7 days camp of N.S.S. is organized where in a near village is adopted & students bring about awareness to the villagers on various issues such as – Hygiene, Water conservation, Single use of plastics and Drug abuse, AIDS awareness, Girl child education and Gender equality etc. On National events such as 15th Aug & 26th January, tree plantation is prioritized. Clean India is another major mission which is targeted by the N.S.S. Committee under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. The unit arranges these activities  in public place to create social awareness amongst all. The students participate in Blood Donation Camp. Every year 200 students are enrolled for two years. Those students who participate in the N.S.S. Camp are awarded certificate of participation. The N.S.S. unit was collaborated with Red – Ribbon Club till 2015.
