ANTI RAGGING POLICY

ACTS OF RAGGING

Act of physical and sexual abuse, homosexual assault, stripping, forcing obscene and Lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health.

Act of abuse by spoken words, e-mails, snail-mails, public insults, perverted pleasures, vicarious or sadistic feel from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to others.

Exploiting the services of junior students for completing the academic or any other personal task by the seniors.

As recommended by legal authorities undertaking regarding refraining from ragging (with information of consequences of indulge in) will be taken from students and their guardians prior to admission.

Act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure.

Any act by a senior student that adversely affects the mental health and self confidence of a junior student.

PUNISHMENTS AGAINST RAGGING

  1. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  2. Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
  3. Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation Process.
  4. Withholding results.
  5. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  6. Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel.
  7. Cancellation of admission.
  8. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.
  9. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
  10. Fine ranging between Rupees 25,000/-and Rupees one lakh Collective punishment:
    When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment.
